Tulloch uses the name Bitsie rather than Elizabeth is in honor of an World War II fighter pilot known as "Bitsie" and involved in Goldsboro B-50, a crash which occurred in 1961. Tulloch began to act as Bitsie in the year 2000, and continued to do so until 2017. In 2017, she chose to change her name to Elizabeth. For my introductions to new acquaintances, Bitsie is still the name I choose to use. It was a good idea at the time I was in my early 20s when I just beginning my acting career. In my mid-thirties, I still felt the need to re-visit Elizabeth. When I did a film it was a thought that never came to my mind. It was Elizabeth when we filled on your legal papers. Is that right? So I contacted both my agent and manager to get their opinions. The older you get, the better. Bitsie, on contrary is a sweet and cute name. It's cutesy. Was it all that was really? Elizabeth is not my name now. The name is only for billing purposes in the future. Tulloch comes from Scottish and Spanish descent. Tulloch claims that her parents were from Spain, even though Spanish isn't her primary language. The Tulloch family includes a paternal grandmother of Renfrewshire and her grandparent from Kirkwall. Both are in Scotland. In an interview exclusive to BBC News the reporter stated that we believe the Tullochs first migrated to the US between 1880 and 1900, and the Kerrs emigrated in the early 1900s. After she returned in the U.S., she went to Bedford New York for middle and secondary school. Tulloch received a magnacum-laude at Harvard University, with double majors in English and American Literature and visual and environmental studies.
