Meredith Salenger has been a popular actress for many years. She was born in California, Malibu, United States on March 14, 1970. Her net worth was estimated to be $5 million as of 1 June 2023. Decker's family moved out of Louisiana and into Georgia during the summer of 1995. Decker had begun writing songs and making frequent trips to Nashville to look for a record deal. A representative of the label that was independent Big Yellow Dog Records heard her aged 17 and immediately began selling her songs to various labels. The demos of Decker were sent through to L.A. Reid by Mercury Records President David Massey, who was at the time in charge of Island/Def Jam. Reid then agreed to sign Decker to a recording contract. Jessie James, her moniker for the album she debuted with that title on August 9, 2009 was self-titled. Jessie James enjoyed a modest amount of success and Wanted could make it to the Top 40 on the Singles Charts. Decker has always considered herself as a singer from the country genre however, the album's promotion and production was targeted at an audience more influenced by pop. Following two singles from the album, Decker confronted label executives to have more control over her music and her subsequent single Boys in the Summer was an album that was more country-oriented. The album of Decker, Daughter of a Gypsy (or Sweet American Dreams), was canceled by Mercury after two singles did not chart on the chart for country.

I was a gruelling 12 hour days cleaning floors and tearing down wallpaper with one child strapped on my back and the others crawling inside the playpen. Ha!
